So I was messing around in class when I was pointed in the direction of a little something called "Kaizo Mario World" It's a rom-hack of the original super mario world for SNES. It is evil-incarnate. I'm decently good at platformers (Donkey Kong Country aside) but jesus christ, I can't make it more than 40 seconds into the first level. Immediately in front of you, there is a five stacked high tower of Bullet Bill launchers. Whatever, speed jump over them. Then do you know what you have to do? YOU HAVE TO "RIDE" THE FIVE BBS ACROSS A GAP NEARLY TWO AND A HALF SCREEN LENGTHS TO THE NEXT ISLAND. I'm told Kaizo is Japanese for "Madness" How fitting. |

Webcomics Pimping.
So I'm bored in class, so I figure I'm going to take a few moments to blithely pimp all the webcomics I read. Starting with the order I discovered them. 8-Bit Theatre: A humorous take on the 'plot' of FF1 done entirely with sprites. Has it's funny moments, currently at a low point with out any real purpose. http://www.nuklearpower.comCtrl-Alt-Delete: Gaming comic revolving around a trio of gamers who live together. Interesting plotlines interspersed with gaming specific panels. Mayhem ensues. http://www.cad-comic.comXKCD: 'nuff said. http://www.xkcd.comOrder of the Stick: Dungeons and Dragons themed stick figure comic, very well written and enjoyable for all who like their Dnd. Makes me want to play heck of DnD. http://www.giantitp.comQuestionable Content: Again, I'm sure all of you read that one already so I'm just going to skip it. http://www.questionablecontent.netLooking for Group: A fantasy themed comic where-in the main characters each appear to be one of the members of the Horde (Orc, Tauren, Belf and Undead) but not WoW themed. Very good artwork and storylines. http://www.lfgcomic.comErfworld: About a corpulent nerd who specializes in tabletop wargames who is summoned by means of a spell gone wrong into one of the very games he loves to act as the Chief Warlord for a (possibly evil) faction. The first few pages are a bit slow moving and I found myself turned off by some of the 'cuteness' of it (dwagons instead of dragons etc) but it has steadily improved and now I just wish it updated more than once a week. Chock full of pop-culture nerd references. Also at http://www.giantitp.comAchewood: The best thing on the internet. Ever. I have no idea how I hadn't heard of it until I did. Has been online since 2001. Composed of the day-to-day (but by all means awesome/hilarious) lives of a group of stuffed animals and some cats from the neighbor hood. Insanely well written, amazing characters. I AM SITTING IN CLASS.
AS YOU MAY HAVE ALREADY READ, I AM SITTING IN CLASS. I AM NOT DOING ANYTHING. I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING SINCE I GOT HERE MANY HOURS AGO. I STILL HAVE TO SIT HERE FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR. WHY AM I HERE? WHY DID I PAY THREE DOLLARS FOR A LAME GREEN TEA THING? GOD DAMN FUZE. THAT IS NOT A THREE DOLLAR DRINK. WHY DID I BUY IT THEN? So I put in my two weeks notice at Pizza Hut on Tuesday. I also had my first and second interviews at Staples on Tuesday. The two instances may be related, I am not sure. BACK TO CRUISE CONTROL. AH, THAT'S BETTER. MUCH BETTER. Argggh. Brain meltdowns.
Attn: Everyone. If you see me online during the week anytime between 9-12 and 1-4 please give me shit for not being in class. Enough is enough. Depression attacks be damned. On the brighter side of things, I may be a certified computer tech next time any of you see me. I have until next Friday morning to take this test. But I think more studying is in order first. And then many drinks will be had in celebration. Many many drinks. |
